Latuff: attitude in Brazil

A NEW DIRECTION
Last night, I learned that some sort of “pause”, “truce”, or “ceasefire” had been “sort of” achieved in the war against Palestinians. Well, fine, whatever these terms mean. All I need to do here is point out what I said about 5 weeks ago: the figure of Israelis dead was numbered at 1,400. The way Zionists think, the new Master Race, one Zionist is worth ten Arabs. So, at that time I cautioned that we could not expect any humane movement until at least fourteen thousand Palestinians were killed. When the news broke out that indeed Israel had killed fourteen thousand Palestinians, I kept listening, and, sure enough, some sort of deal had been reached. When asked about this, spokesmen said the situation is “fluid”. Of course – what facts would serve any purpose? A deal is a deal, and the official word is that the war on Hamas will continue in “due course”. The only real point is that the number of ten to one has been reached.
I’m also going to post all of Latuff’s illustrations I have stacked up recently.
So, from now on, rather than try to catch up with all that is going on and put it into some sort of coherent writing, this will go out as long as anything more needs comment. We’ll talk about Rosalind Carter, Jimmie Carter, Iran, whatever, whenever something new develops. All I want to point out here is that his newsletter will be served up when things happen and that way I won’t have to think so much. If you think too many are coming out, let me know. I read every comment sent. Anyway, this is where I was a couple of days ago:
I’m not saying for about the seventh time that this is the final edition of the Times, but it has to be the end of actually believing that anything worthwhile is coming out as news or “Current Affairs”. There is, however, one principle point I want to make before I get started: Nothing you see, hear, or read in our media is motivated by any principle or political philosophy. Terms such as “left-wing” and “right-wing” are tossed around, to be sure, but the only reason or motive behind any of it is profit, or money. [I addressed this in the intro. It has also been a much too busy or plagued time for me, so here goes:]
Recently, for the first time ever, I used the term “fake news” to describe what was going on, but I had to be a bit tentative about it because it has been a favorite term used by confused and lonely MAGA nuts [deas MAGA mean make Argentina great again?] to describe occasional facts that would appear on the news. Even the word “facts” is attacked from time to time with “alternate facts”. No, there is no clear way to make any sense of this – unless you think about what gets people interested in what is called “news” and then say whatever it is that will attract a larger audience. It is the size and type f audience that attracts sponsors and they pay, not to support any real agenda, but to sell stuff and make a profit off it.
This lack of understanding is what has led so many politicians to posit so many viscious attacks on certain ideas such as no abortion, no unions, no whatever. They actually think that this is all about being as fascist as possible. They actually think that Trump is so successful because he was attacked so many various decent ideas such as the right to privacy, compassion, and listening to reason. Well, it has nothing to do with that and the more Trump’s opponents try to sound more fascist than him, he moves off to whatever is popular with a group of lonely fools and gains popularity. Ron de Santis is a perfect example. Why is it that he is less and less popular than before? Because he still thinks this has something to do with ideology. No, the two most successful fascist type figures are Donald Trump and Mr. Pillow. If you want air time, either gain it through popular idiocy or buy it like Elon Musk bought Twitter and called it X. He lost something like 20 billion on it (or was it a million? Use scientific notation and I’d have a chance. The guy actually thought it was all about ideology. He has now lost several huge accounts.
